This week, you get a bonus episode! You also get to meet another member of the NeONBRAND team. Lucky you.

Episodes 7 and 8 of the Kurt & Kenny Podcast: Show Notes

Why two episodes at the same time?

This week, Kurt and Kenny share their entrepreneurship stories in their own words. If you listened to Episode 6 and heard NeONBRAND’s origin story, these podcasts will complete the picture for you.

NeONBRAND's location at Work in Progress on 6th street in Downtown Las Vegas

In Episode 7, Kurt talks about his first ever business, the people who have had the greatest influence in his life, and donuts. As his story unfolds, he also shares how his family stays closely involved in his business to this day.

Though Kurt didn’t grow up in an entrepreneurial family, he was a born entrepreneur with a head full of ideas. He’s not a big fan of the side hustle, either. Instead, he believes in choosing a course, putting your head down, and doing whatever it takes to make it work.

Kenny’s story in Episode 8 is as different as it’s possible to be.

Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs, Kenny intended to be not a business owner himself, but a lawyer. Circumstances changed when law school didn’t work out, and he started building NeONBRAND at night while working a day job to support himself and his wife.

Of course, NeONBRAND eventually grew up and became Kenny’s full time gig. More on that in Episode 6, NeONBRAND Origins.

As a business owner, Kenny sees his company as a means to an end. Running NeONBRAND at night while working a full time job was just a necessary evil – the goal was always to own his own business so that he could have the means to spend time with his family doing things he cares about doing. NeONBRAND matters during work hours, and when he’s not at work, he’s 100% not at work.

You can learn a lot by listening to entrepreneur stories. You can learn a lot more by comparing and contrasting the stories of two very different entrepreneurs who ultimately ended up running a successful company together.
