The Olympic Games never cease to create “buzz,” but this year, the world’s premier athletic event will produce a bit more – in the form of Tweets.
The Olympic Committee gave their social media stamp of approval, announcing that athletes are actively encourage to “take part in social media and to post, blog and tweet their experiences.”
This is a change from the 2008 games, when uploading photos taken at Olympic venues was prohibited. And oh, how welcome the change will be. In an age where “facebooking” and “tweeting” and “blogging” have become household verbs, we’re stoked the Olympic Games dove into the social media pool – and we’ll likely be judging their form.
